Event Requests
For Inquiring Authors and Presses
Pages Bookshop's literary events are primarily booked through our relationship with major publishers, their imprints, and the small and local presses we work with. Due to scheduling demands and limited resources, we cannot accommodate all event requests, but we are always open to reviewing them. We ask that event inquiries be made at least 6 to 8 weeks from the proposed date (or range of proposed dates). All inquiring authors or press please reach out to our event manager at susan@pagesbkshop.com.
Please note to be considered your book must meet the following requirements:
-
Your book must be bound, with a clear and legible title and author information on the cover and the spine.
-
No books with stapled or spiral binding will be able to be considered.
-
All cover images must be of good quality. Images and text cannot be pixelated and all text must be legible.
-
Your book must also have a valid ISBN and barcode and meet our sales terms: We require at least a 40% discount and free freight; all books must be fully returnable.
For Self-Published Authors
Because Pages gets so many requests from self-published authors we have come up with a special program specifically to accommodate these authors. Self-published authors can follow our Self-Published Author Guidelines and event requests. Self-Published authors also have the option of renting out our store at $75 an hour, Monday through Saturday after 7pm or Sunday anytime. Events must be two hours minimum.
Authors will be responsible for bringing copies of their books and promoting their event. A staff member will be on site the entire time to help set up for and facilitate the event.
Authors interested in this option please reach out to susan@pagesbkshop.com with several dates you are interested in. Please also include the name of your book and a brief description as to what it’s about. We also strongly suggest you stop by the store to see the space in person and meet our staff.
For University Departments, Private Organizations, Businesses, and Libraries
Pages Bookshop is available as a full-service bookseller for local author appearances, panels, or special occasions for university departments, private organizations, businesses, conferences, libraries and more in the Metro-Detroit area.
We will handle orders, staff, and sell books at your location. Please note that due to scheduling demands and limited resources, we cannot accommodate all event requests. To best assist you, we ask that off-site event inquiries be made at least 6 to 8 weeks from the proposed date. Please reach out to susan@pagesbkshop.com with all inquiries.
